Blog 2 Elections Matter Valerie Peraza

My name is Valerie Peraza, and i was apart of Group 4 for the election matters project. Our teacher gave us four carefully chosen selections that provided a range of viewpoints as part of this project. Every subject was selected to enable us to examine important problems and have meaningful conversations on subjects that are important in the modern world. The chance to conduct research, explain our findings, and provide the class a variety of perspectives was fantastic.

The opportunity for each group to choose a topic and go deeply into it was one of the most fascinating aspects of this endeavor. We were free to investigate the importance and influence of the topic we had selected, which made for some really insightful and thought-provoking presentations. In addition to teaching us more about our subject, the collaborative method inspired us to build relationships with one another and communicate our research in a way that would improve everyone's comprehension of the problem. I must admit that the job completed by each group greatly impressed me. In a way that was both captivating and aesthetically pleasing, each one offered new insights. The PowerPoint presentations, which demonstrated the depth of each group's research, were very well-structured. However, it was the brochures that truly caught my attention. They did a fantastic job of succinctly yet effectively summarizing the main ideas from each presentation, making it simple to quickly assimilate the most crucial details, as a person who doesn't really learn well off of PowerPoints and lectures i thought the brochures were perfect for people just like me who cant really sit through long speech presentations or have a hard time listening.

Presenting complicated concepts in a straightforward and engaging way isn't always simple, but everyone did a fantastic job. I was quite pleased of my classmates' diligence and hard work. I appreciate you taking the time to read my thoughts on this project. I hope you find these insights as motivating as I did, and I'm thrilled to share the ideas and experiences I developed while working on Elections Matter. The topics covered were immigration policy, education policy, gender equality, and, lastly, the electorate and the electoral process. For our project, my colleagues and I decided to concentrate on gender equality. To start, we worked closely together to establish our strategy. We settled on the main topics we wanted to address and jointly stated our goals. We gave each member clear duties and responsibilities so they could all add their abilities to the project and make sure everyone was actively participating. After that, we got to work creating our PowerPoint presentation, carefully calculating how many slides would be required to convey the material in an orderly and understandable manner. Our primary objective from the beginning was to provide a presentation that would not only educate our professor and fellow students but also offer an interesting and eye-catching viewpoint that would captivate and educate our audience.

I genuinely think that our team collaborated quite effectively. Our mutual support was evident throughout the presentation. There was always someone there to aid a speaker who needed it. Additionally, we were able to move fluidly between subjects, maintaining the presentation's coherence and organization. Our meticulous planning and prompt cooperation in the lead-up to the presentation produced this seamless flow. Our project's overall quality was much improved by the extra insights that each participant added to their portion of the speech.

                                                Immigration Policies

I want to consider the presentation given by the second group, which was about immigration laws. This presentation was incredibly well-planned and thoughtfully assembled, and I truly liked it. Their pamphlet outlined the main points of similarity and divergence between Kamala Harris's and Donald Trump's approaches to immigration reform. Both the lecture and the booklet were educational and backed by strong research, demonstrating the group's considerable effort to compile the most current and correct material.

                                                   Education Policies

Up right next we have a group talking on education policies and i want to thank them by praising the team for their diligence. I had a great time learning about the changes in schooling over time. Since it affects not just us now but also the chances and experiences of future generations, education policy is an extremely important issue. We should give this discussion our full attention and thought.

                                        Electorate and Election Process

The group I'll be thinking about last gave a presentation on the electorate and the electoral process. This lecture was interesting and educational, in my opinion. Everyone needs to understand how the government makes choices and makes changes. Among other essential topics, the group gave insightful information about the historical background of the electoral process, how it operates, and the significance of our votes as citizens.

The organization made it simple to follow the evolution of voting rights and procedures by included a timeline of voting history in their pamphlet. They also offered a critical examination of the Bush vs. Gore presidential contest in 2000, emphasizing the ballot machine malfunctions that caused confusion and impacted the vote total. As the organization noted, this occurrence made it clear that the voting method needed to be improved. All in all, I felt the presentation was thoughtful and well-structured. Learning about the evolution of voting and its history was a fascinating experience for me.

That concludes my blog entry. This task forced me to interact with subjects I might not have been familiar with, which is why I genuinely enjoyed it. I've gained public speaking skills in this program that I never would have imagined. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to me consider and discuss the presentations given by my classmates. Even if i wasn't able to present the presentation as i was sick and had to spectate on the stairs i had hope that Isais was clear and thorough enough for the very heavy and conversation starter of a topic made you be deep into thought on what's happening to women everywhere. Thank you!
